View of
excavation, showing landowners' house
Here is an overview of the excavation site, showing the home of the landowners, Larry and Sheryl Lozier. Yes, that's their driveway where all those people are standing on the far side of the hole. The large muddy area is a spring-fed pond, so four pumps are used to bring down the water level to allow excavation. Even so, the hole was very wet and muddy. Closer view of excavation
Here is a view from the opposite side of the pond, standing near the Loziers' house. Some bones are clearly visible in the pit, as are the catwalk and dams constructed to aid excavation. You can also see three improvised acoustic enclosures built from plywood and foam to reduce pump noise; each of these has a pump behind it.
