Most older theses do not have copyright notices, but copying recent theses (since about 1989) will usually require obtaining the permission of the author.

If the publication has been requested before, a microfilm copy will be on file, and the cost of a reprint will be based on a $25 handling fee, plus 25¢ per page. Turnaround time for orders of publications available on microfilm is normally quite short, in the vicinity of a week. Orders must be received as written requests, and faxes are acceptable. The Cornell Library will make the copies and enclose an invoice with the shipment.

If no microfilm copy is available, there will be an additional charge of $30 for the microfilm, and the order will take longer to process.
