Cornell Seal

The Program of Computer Graphics ("PCG") pursues research in many areas of computer graphics. Much of this work can be grouped into several recognized sub-fields.

Introduction
A description of the goals of research at the PCG, and a discussion of the changing trends in the field.
Overview
The "big picture" view of PCG research demonstrates how computer graphics research requires a multi-disciplinary effort.
Interactive Modeling
Providing modelers with intuitive and useful computer interfaces will allow them to more easily explore their design ideas.
Light Measurement Laboratory
Through high precision measurements, we are working to accurately describe how light reflects from many different surface materials. This fundamental research is the foundation for higher-level work.
Global Illumination
Calculating how light reflects in a simulated environment has been a staple of our research for many years.
Image-Based Rendering
Digital photographs and computer renderings can be combined to form panoramic images that can be explored interactively.
Visualization
Scientific and medical data require different visualization methods so that the images provide the greatest possible information.
