Most of our research can be placed into one of four major areas.
- Our Architectural Modeling
work strives to make the modeling process more creative.
Modeling should be more than simply data entry -
it should stimulate ideas and contribute to the creative process.
- Realistic Image Synthesis
should not be thought of as a single "rendering" operation.
Accurate simulations require separate steps involving
measurement,
light transport and
perceptual issues.
- Our Digital Photography
work encompasses camera calibration, image relighting,
and image-based rendering.
- Visualization involves
taking large data sets (from measurements or simulations)
and producing images that give the user insight into the data.
