Bruce Walter's Page
My main research
area is the
realistic rendering of 3D images. The core is accurately
simulating the flow of light in an environment using various (often
Monte Carlo) algorithms, but also touches on modeling of materials,
light sources, and geometry, visual perception, fast ray tracing, and
special techniques for interactive applications (on the CPU or GPU).
Work Related
I got my Ph.D. here at Cornell working on particle tracing
and density
estimation methods for estimating radiosity-like solutions. You can

an electronic version of
my thesis.
Next I spent a year as a post-doc at the IMAGIS lab in
Grenoble, France
working for George Drettakis. But life is circular and I have
returned to Cornell to work as a post-doc
and research associate working on global illumination including
perceptual
aspects and its usability within the realm of interactive rendering.
